12 YEARS! Not sure if I’m going to nudge this page back into existence or not but I thought I’d update anyone who cares to check it out. Things are going well. Something Fun and Different is still the name of my company but we mostly just do Speed Sketchers Caricatures. It has grown to 12 locations and 19 artists across the country. We do strolling and stationary Speed Caricatures at events and we also do virtual, digital and digital silhouettes and have several one of a kind options that set us apart. Hoping for some really good growth in 2026. I hope it goes well for you as well! I’ll try to keep this page updated every now and then as it’s useful to see where growth has happened and it’s helpful to point new artists to who are interested in getting started in busking.
I will say that there have been a few things that I’ve written in the past that may not reflect who I am or are not in alignment with my current personal or professional views. While they may be unfortunate or offensive to some (and I apologize for that) I am going to leave (most of) them here as it represents growth and that is a good thing. I find that mistakes are sometimes good things because they give us opportunities to learn and grow. Where it is appropriate, I will try to revisit some posts that might not have aged well and perhaps express some lessons I’ve learned in the comments.
Anyways, thank you for finding my old (renewed?) blog. I hope you might find some of my ramblings helpful and I hope you have a great 2026!
Here is a video of me strolling that I made with my meta glasses at a recent wedding in Lakewood, OH. Enjoy!
